Thoughts on Fall

President’s Prologue:

We’ve had a lot of changes since our first meeting back in September. I’m really proud of our little group and how hard we ‘ve worked to make this transition as seamless as possible as we find our new way forward.

  • Future meetings will run a little differently. We will be adopting the school’s meeting norms. You’ll see them printed at the top of agendas moving forward. It’s a great way to align how we operate with the purpose of our organization. Thanks to Principal Halvorson for including us.

  • If you want to know what’s going on with the PTA, we maintain a website and the calendar of events page is your best resource for up-to-date information. We have a facebook and instagram account, we send home physical flyers in student backpacks, and we recently made a reusable sign for the sandwich board that will be placed near the curb during drop off and pick up in the days leading up to events or meetings. These are the forms of communication that are feasible for us to maintain. We welcome you to subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on social media, and stay connected with us.

Please read on for quick updates, with more detail on each topic down below.

Thanks for reading,

Megan Trimble, THE PTA President

TL;DR (too long, didn’t read) | the quick and dirty basics:

  • Trunk or Treat: we need additional trunk hosts, people to serve cider, and folks to help us clean up after. The PTA is providing all candy and goodies to hand out. Click this link to check it out.

  • Fall Day of Service on October 18th from 9:30-11:30AM: We need 10 volunteers to work on the front flower beds and assist students in picking up garbage on school grounds. Please click this link to sign up.

  • The calendar of events on our website is always up to date. In the coming months we have Yoga on the Hill, Trunk or Treat, Fall Book Fair, our Cookie Fundraiser, and Hawks Night Out at MOD Pizza.

Volunteer Opportunity: Fall Day of Service — Beautify Tumwater Hill Elementary! 🌿🌸Click here to volunteer!

Join us on Fall Service Day, October 18th from 9:30-11:30AM, to help spread beauty bark in the entrance flower beds and clean up our campus! You do not need to stay the entire time. Even 30 minutes can help make a difference.

The grounds crew will handle the trimming and bark delivery, and we need volunteers to spread the bark and pick up trash around the school.

Please bring a wheelbarrow, flat shovel, or rake if you have one! We’ll provide garbage bags and trash pickers. Let’s work together to keep our school looking great! 💪🌱

🚨 Trunk or Treat Alert – We Need YOU! 🚨

Our Trunk or Treat event is coming up on October 26th from 2-4 PM, but we still need more trunks! 🎃 Right now, we only have 6 trunks and we need at least 10 to make this event spook-tacular! 👻🚗💨

The best part? PTA is providing all the candy and treats for you to hand out, so all you need to do is bring your creativity and your decorated trunk! 🎉🕸️

Set up starts at 1 PM, let's create some Halloween magic for our Tumwater Hill families.🎃💀

Spirit Wear Sales Have Wrapped Up! 👕💙

Thank you to everyone who supported our Spirit Wear sale this month! If you chose to have your order shipped, it will be on its way to you soon. For those who selected school pick-up, the PTA will be in touch once we have your order in hand and are ready to coordinate a pick-up at school. 📦🎒

Just a reminder—this is a service our PTA provides to bring school spirit to our community, and we don’t make any money from these sales. It’s all about spreading that Tumwater Hill pride! 💙✨

Thank You for Joining Us at Hawks Night Out: Sky Zone! 🦅🎉

A big THANK YOU to the 34 amazing attendees who came out to bounce with us at Sky Zone! 🤸‍♀️ We had an absolute blast and are so grateful for your support. The funds raised will go directly to our general PTA fund, helping to provide enrichment and other valuable support for Tumwater Hill Elementary. 🌟

Your participation makes a difference, and we couldn't do it without you! 💙
